Google I/O 2016: What to be expected this year?

by on May 17, 2016

Google is again ready with new announcements for this year with it’s awaited event of the year: Google I/O Conference. Every year Google introduces new research in its various projects like Android, Chrome, TV, VR, and many more exciting experiments every year.

Since the beginning of 2016, fancy announcements have been there by giants like Facebook and Microsoft. We can expect something similar from Google too. What I have found out during past few months via a number of rumours about projects, I can say this time I/O would be quite interesting. Though the information is mere rumours, but they are exciting enough for one to wait for the event.

Let’s see our expected list of announcements which would be there in the event

Android N

Android N being the hot property introduced starting this year by Google would definitely be discussed in the event. Though to how much extent it would be discussed is yet to be found in the event. But we can expect a name introduction for Android N and a discussion upon it’s new features such as changed notification, multi-window etc. As there are even rumours about the introduction of 3D touch or similar feature in Android N, it would be interesting how Google will be implementing? The same way or modifications.

It is early to predict anything about Android N right now. Still, how much about Android N would be covered at the I/O? That’s a mystery!

It’s an interesting news coming out of Google. As it is clear from various sources that Google is developing it’s own VR platform, something like Gear VR. It would be interesting to see what new Google will introduce in VR for developers. How much different or can say advanced it would to Google cardboard which company is currently producing? The air would definitely be cleared during the I/O event.

Angular 2

As we know Angular 2 release is around the corner during I/O conference. It would be great to see the improvisations which Google will introduce with this newer version of Angular 2. Though a lot have been discussed on Angular 2 since it was publicly introduced. But a separate session seems to be interesting given that developer community has a firm idea about this platform.

Project Tango

Project Tango is a hot property in discussion since it’s introduction at MWC 2016. With this project, the VR market is for sure to get a BOOM!

A separate session on Project Tango would be to look out during the I/O conference. As currently, Project Tango is being developed by Lenovo and only available to developers. It would be nice to see for Google’s announcements about their vision about Tango and how the same would be achieved on every android device not limited to Lenovo. The whole session would be interesting and VR crazy guys like must gonna look out!

Google’s Chat Bots

Well, Facebook has introduced Chat Bots during this year’s F8, so it was kind of evident for Google to introduce something similar to compete it’s rival. Though, it would be interesting to see whether google will introduce chat bots as part of Google Plus or Hangout services. Or rather would it be a type of Third-party service for others to incorporate in their platforms.?

There are rumours about Google working on a platform such like WhatsApp since some time. Would they be part of such kind of application? It is yet to discover in the event.

Tilt Brush

That’s something cool introduced recently by Google. I suppose we all might have seen the video on Tilt brush, if not here’s the link. Though it is not clear whether there would be a separate session on Tilt brush, but I am hoping for one.

Point being made, there would be a lot of interesting stuff to look out this year’s I/O conference.
