So while mindlessly browsing through Reddit (my favourite pastime), I came across this interesting post – [WP] Harry Potter is a computer hacker, and the Horcruxes are seven backup servers that he must shut down to defeat the most wicked internet persona of all times: _v0ld3m0rt. I have read all the Harry Potter books and follow the universe with quite an interest, though I am not a part of fandom for sure.

There were a lot of entries by fellow Redditors but one bloke who goes by /u/samwisegamgee42 caught my attention. He wrote it beautifully for the first part and then went on to write an equivalent prompt for each Harry potter book till the Goblet of Fire. I am eagerly waiting for the successive iterations but till then, I am pasting the aforesaid as a full story below with the respective Reddit link, so you don’t forget to upvote him for his work.

Book 1: Harry Potter and the Hacker’s Code (Upvote)

“Yer not really a wizard, Arry” said Hagrid.

“What do you mean?” replied Harry. “I’m about to leave on a train to wizarding school aren’t I?”

Hagrid stopped walking and looked down. “I aven’t been exactly honest with you. We always use the wizard excuse as a cover up for familys. Yer actually an elite computer hacker.”

Harry’s eyebrows narrowed as he asked “What are you talking about, Hagrid? I don’t understand”

Hagrid replied “I don’t have much time, Arry. Here is a quick rundown. Magic doesn’t exist, you don’t know this yet but you are an elite hacker. You can use those skills to do real world things. Think of the Matrix, but you’re using computers to affect the real world instead of being in a simulation.”

“Wha-what?” gawked Harry.

“I’m sorry Arry,” replied Hagrid “but come with me, we have to get something”

The two of them walked down the alleyway until a large slightly gothic looking building came into view. They walked up to the door, and Hagrid put his thumb on the sensor. A small metal orb popped up and scanned Hagrid’s face. A voice came from the orb “Firewall disabled, please enter.” The large metal doors began to screech open. The two stepped into the building.

“Where are we Hagrid?” asked Harry.

“We’re at the most well guarded server farm in the world Arry, Gringoogle” replied Hagrid.

A small hologram appeared and Hagrid whispered something to it that Harry couldn’t hear. The hologram motioned for them to follow, and the two entered into an elevator. They went down over seven hundred floors before the elevator stopped. They stepped out of the elevator and followed the hologram until the end of the hall. Finally the hologram spoke out loud: “Computer access point number 713.”

Hagrid stepped forward and typed a password into the computer. A metal orb then came out and scanned Hagrid’s face again. “Access granted.”

Harry stood there and watched Hagrid type around on the computer for a while.

“What is the meaning of this?” screamed Hagrid to the hologram.

“There are no accessible files on that folder” said the hologram.

“But that can’t be” replied Hagrid. He continued “pull up all access logs from the past two weeks.”

The hologram emitted a projection in front of Hagrid and Harry. The screen read, _v0ld3m0rt was here.

“Blimey hell” screeched Hagrid. He pulled up something that resembled a stick, but had a thin light at the end. He spoke into the stick “Dumbledore, I have urgent news. The Hacker’s Code has been compromised. _v0ld3m0rt somehow installed a rootkit in the file vault and took everything. It’s no longer safe here, we will meet you soon.”

Harry put his foot down before shouting. “Hagrid, what does that all mean?! What is going on here?”

Hagrid grabbed Harry by the arm and said: “No time to explain Harry, we’ve got to get out of here.”

Harry sat in Dumbledore’s office watching Hagrid and Dumbledore speak quietly across the room. He looked around and saw moving pictures on the wall, and a phoenix sitting in a cage.

“Those are called gifs” whispered Dumbledore while pointing to one of the moving pictures. Harry jumped. “Err, sorry professor, I didn’t hear you coming up.”

“That’s quite alright Harry” Dumbledore replied. “You must have a lot of questions.”

Harry gulped “Yes, if you wouldn’t mind explaining what’s going on.”

Dumbledore looked around the room and then up to his phoenix. The phoenix sat there watching them, it’s mechanical eyes switching gazes between Harry and Dumbledore. Dumbledore pointed up to the phoenix. “Do you see that?” said Dumbledore. “This is FAWKES. He is not a real phoenix, but a mechanical one.” Fawkes flew down and landing on Dumbledores shoulder. Dumbledore continued, “He is nothing more than lines of code. Millions of lines of code.”

Fawkes let out a loud and ferocious screech before flying back to its perch. Harry looked at Fawkes in complete amazement. It looked so real, he never would have known it was fake without being told.

“Ah yes” said Dumbledore, “You’re probably wondering how millions of lines of code can look so real. That’s the beauty of programming, once done perfectly, it’s like magic.”

Harry looked back to the professor. “Excuse me sir, but if you wouldn’t mind, this doesn’t answer what happened in the vault with Hagrid at all.”

Dumbledore slowly raised his eyebrows, and answered “Of course, Harry. What you must understand is that just like Fawkes is made up of millions of lines of code, there are trillions of lines of code that control our world around us.”

Harry asked, “What do you mean control the world around us?”

Dumbledore replied “Your transportation, your means of food, everything around you is controlled by these computers. But what if life and death could also be controlled? Well there is no what if – there are ways to prolong life, and the Hackers Code is one of those ways.”

Harry’s eyes widened. “You mean, this-this line of code can prolong someones life? Who stole it?”

Dumbledore replied “He goes by the hacker name of _v0ld3m0rt, but his real name is Tom Riddle. He was a student of mine who used computer code to cross ethical boundaries. He only lives through the Darknet now through seven servers that he has his persona backed up on to.”

Harry raised one eyebrow “Backed up his persona, what do you mean?”

Dumbledore replied, “He was able to upload his mind onto seven different computer servers to avoid his death. Now that he has the Hackers Code, all he needs is enough time to use that code to take his seven pieces of mind and come back to life.”

Harry stood up and walked around the room. This was a lot of information, and his head was beginning to hurt. He couldn’t understand how all of this could be possible if magic didn’t exist. A thought came into his head, and he said: “But how, professor, how could someone come back to LIFE from a computer?”

Dumbledore look up from his glasses and said “Of course he would be mechanical, but just as real as Fawkes seems to you. He would technically be a copy of himself.”

Harry slammed his hand onto the wall in front of him, he felt as if there was something about Tom Riddle that Dumbledore wasn’t telling him. But he was tired from his long day and all of the information that he had learned in the last thirty minutes, so he asked “So how do we stop him?”

Dumbledore replied, “He left one of his computers here at the school. We must look into it to see if we can find more of his plans on where his backup servers are.”

“Alright, so lets go see it right now!” said Harry.

“Ah” replied Dumbledore, “That is a task for tomorrow. Get some sleep, and tomorrow we will be visiting the Computer of Secrets.”

Book Two: Harry Potter and the Computers of Secrets (Upvote)

The next day, Harry sat in the common room of his hacker house, GriffinBackdoor. While he sat there waiting for Dumbledore, two of his housemates came and sat down. One was a girl and the other was a boy.

The girl spoke “Hi there, nice to meet you. I’m Hermoine and this is Ron.” “Hi, I’m Harry, Harry Potter.”

Their mouths dropped, and eyes widened “Did you say, Harry Potter?!” asked Hermoine.

“Uhh yes. Why?” asked Harry.

“You’re famous you know” chimed in Ron.

“What are you talking about?” asked Harry. He stood up and walked by the fireplace. He put his arm against the wall and looked at both of them. Hermoine then described the story of how _v0ld3m0rt had once hacked into Harry’s parent’s computers, causing a leak in intelligence info that got them killed.

Harry was livid, “How could Dumbledore have not told me this?”

“I don’t know” replied Hermoine, “but there’s more. _v0ld3m0rt tried to hack your computer, and with the Rootkit, he had installed in your home network it should have been easy. But for some reason, he couldn’t hack your computer.” “What does that mean?” Asked Harry. He had thought back to his childhood and his computer that his parents had given to him as a baby. He used it every day growing up.

“It means you had a Firewall on your computer that was unbreakable” said Hermoine, even _v0ld3m0rt himself couldn’t hack it. That’s what made you famous—” Hermoine was cut off by a knock on the front door. Thinking it was Dumbledore, Harry rushed to the door to open it. It was just another student who needed to be let in.

“What has you all fired up” asked Ron, after seeing Harry rush for the door.

“I’m waiting to meet Dumbledore” replied Harry.

Ron and Hermoine looked at each other in surprised looks.

“What is it?” asked Harry.

“Well Harry, it’s just that Dumbledore is away from school right now.” Replied Hermoine. “The ministry of computers came last night because they needed to speak with him. They gave us all a message earlier, did you not check your email?”

Harry exhaled and sat down. He forgot to check his personal email server H.E.D.W.I.G. this morning. Harry was angry and confused. He was angry at Dumbledore for not telling him, but now we wanted to destroy _v0ld3m0rt. He thought about what Dumbledore said about the Computer of Secrets, and decided he was going to find it himself with a little help from friends. “Hey Hermoine and Ron, want to hear a secret?”

They had spent three days researching the entire computer library of the castle and yet have not been able to find any clues on a Computer of Secrets.

“There’s no way to figure it out without going Black Hat” said Hermoine. “And we aren’t doing that.”

“What? Why not!” replied Harry. “We need to do anything we can to find him.” Hermoine gasped “Are you crazy Harry? That could get us EXPELLED.” Harry and Hermoine stared back and forth before Ron chimed in and said: “Hermoine, you don’t have to be a part of it, but we are going to try to do something one way or the other, so we could at least use your guidance.”

“Fine” said Hermoine, “Tonight we’re going to DDOS the entire schools system network. I’m then going to re-boot and see if any computers stayed up during the attack and where they were located. That should lead us to the Computer of Secrets” Harry and Ron looked at each other in a surprised stunned silence.

The three of them sat in the common room of their hacker house after everyone went to sleep, and Hermoine went to work. She completed the DDOS in thirty minutes, and they just had to wait two hours for the reboot. Harry’s eyes were getting heavy and his head cloudy until a voice broke through “Harry, they computers rebooted. I found the one computer that didn’t go down. It shows it being in the girls bathroom. I must have done something wrong.”

Harry responded, “I want to go check it out anyway.”

Hermoine looked at Ron, who was snoring lightly. “I think I’m going to stay behind, I’ve already broken more rules than I would like to.”

Harry entered the girls bathroom and looked around. He didn’t seem to find anything of significance, and was about to leave when he saw a quick flash behind the mirror. He pulled out his laptop and put it up against the mirror. “Access granted” a voice said. The floor beneath Harry opened and he fell in.

He was in a large stone room with water on the sides, and a gothic overtone. He walked for what seemed like a mile before he saw it, a large flat computer screen on the wall. He walked up to it and connected his laptop. A projection came on the screen. It was a projection of himself standing but there was also a man standing next to him. Harry looked to his side but saw no one, so he looked back to the screen.

“Well well well, Mr. Potter. How nice to see you” said the man next to him on the computer screen.

“Who are you?” asked Harry.

“What do you mean who am I?” Responded the man. “I’m Tom Riddle of course.”

“You killed my parents” responded Harry.

“Technically I lead to your parents being killed, yes” replied Tom. “It’s unfortunate you were unable to reach the same fate, but I’ll be sure to change that this time around.”

“Why?” replied Harry. “Why what?” Replied Tom. “You’re obviously here to stop me from copying myself to a new body. I would very much like to come back to life, so now I have to kill you.”

Gas began shooting out from the ceiling and the sides of the room. Harry covered his mouth and nose but could feel it slowly seeping into his lungs. He turned to run but fell to his knee, the room was spinning.

“You’ll never make it out of here in time to escape the gas” replied Tom.

Tom began it laugh, “It’s funny that you thought a little Script Kiddie like you could beat the best hacker in the world, _v0ld3m0rt. You may have gotten lucky when you were just a baby, but it was very clearly your parent’s code that saved you.”

Harry began coughing and fell to the floor, his eyes throat and ears were burning. Tom’s last sentence had gotten to Harry, and it made him try one last move out of desperation. He still had his parents computer, and it was connected to the Computer of Secrets. He opened his file browser and looked for any programs that he could have missed that were put on by someone else. Deep into his file folders, he found the first ever download on the computer. It was a program called LOVE. With his vision fading and breathe failing him, he clicked Run Program.

Harry awoke in the hospital, with Ron, Hermoine and Dumbledore sitting at the foot of his bed. He asked what happened, and Dumbledore explained that his program had injected a Trojan into the Computer of Secrets that cause it to delete all data. The gas stopped, and Dumbledore’s phoenix had been able to find him in time to save him.

“I’m sorry I didn’t tell you before Harry” said Dumbledore. “And I know you are recovering, but we must talk. You’ve deleted _v0ld3m0rt’s first backup. I think I’ve found the second one.”

Book Three: Harry Potter and the Programmer of Applications (Upvote)

Harry sat in Dumbledore’s office waiting. He looked around at the gifs on the walls, and up at Fawkes, but this time the phoenix was gone. Dumbledore walked out of his private study and down the stairs towards Harry.

“I’ve told you I think I know where _v0ld3m0rt’s second backup is Harry, but first let me tell you what it is. Marvel Gaunt’s Ring.”

Harry stammered “A-a ring?” Dumbledore looked up from his glasses and replied “Marvel Gaunt’s Ring is a game. It was created by one of the _v0ld3m0rt’s cohorts, your uncle Sirius Black.”

“My uncle helped _v0ld3m0rt?” asked Harry.

Harry knew that his uncle had been in prison for twelve years, but didn’t know why. Dumbledore explained to him that he was arrested because he was accused of helping _v0ld3m0rt get access to his parents computers. Dumbledore then told Harry how Sirius had finally escaped, and was now in hiding. He was the only one alive who knew where Marvel Gaunt’s Ring was, because he was the one who programmed the game himself. He is the best application programmers to ever live, so _v0ld3m0rt commissioned him to make a game.

“So where is he?” asked Harry.

Dumbledore’s phoenix Fawkes flew into the room and landed on Dumbledore’s shoulder. Fawkes look at Harry, and then back at Dumbledore before whispering into his ear.

“Oh” said Dumbledore. “It appears I do not currently know where he is after all, but I have a few more leads. I will know soon Harry, I promise.”

Harry clenched his fist, but knew Dumbledore had the best intentions so he didn’t say anything about his anger. “So now what?” asked Harry.

“Now we wait” replied Dumbledore. “Go to your classes like normal, and I will inform you when I find him”

“Okay” replied Harry.

Dumbledore walked up to his flight of stairs and stood in front of his private study. He turned around and said “Oh Harry. One more thing, Sirius is dangerous and a good hacker himself. It’s believed he may try to hack into our computer systems to get to you. So we’ve put up some extra protection to be safe. They are programs called De-coders and they will instantly suck the code out of any program or computer that tries to access our system”

Harry sat in class listening to his Defense Against the Darknet professor Lupin, speak about different types of programs to compile and run in the case of a DDOS attack. After mentioning DDOS Lupin slightly glanced a ‘I know what you did’ look over to Harry. The class wrapped up and Harry packed up to leave with Ron and Hermoine, professor Lupin asked him to stay after class to speak.

Harry sat in a chair in Lupins office and watched him typing away on his computer, waiting for him to speak.

“Ahem” coughed Harry.

Lupin looked up at Harry and said “My apologies Mr. Potter, I had to send an urgent personal email.”

“Am I in trouble for something, Professor?” asked Harry.

Lupin laughed, “Oh god no Harry! My apologies if it came off that way. I just wanted to speak to you. See I knew your parents growing up, and I wanted to tell you they would be very proud of who you are today.”

“Thank you” said Harry. “If you knew my parents, does that mean you knew my uncle Sirius Black?”

Lupins eyebrows slowly moved down with the rest of his face. “Ah yes, Harry, I did. We were good friends actually. We went to school here as well, and while we went here we created a program called the Marauder’s MAC Address. It was a program that showed where anyone in the school was accessing the computer system, and who it was that was accessing it.”

Harry sat up in his chair. “That’s very nice and all professor, but how can you take so greatly of him after he betrayed my family?”

Lupin sat back in his chair and put the tips of his figures together and pressed them against his chin. “Mhm Harry, that was very insensitive of me, my apologies. Could I at least make it up to you and offer you the program? It may keep you safe from any attacks from him or _v0ld3m0rt.”

Harry thought for a second and then nodded his head. He places his computer onto Lupin’s table, and Lupin connected his laptop and uploaded the Marauder’s MAC Address to Harry’s computer.

Harry was sitting at dinner with Ron and Hermoine, telling them about his meeting with Lupin. Hermoine had argued it was a bad idea to use a program like that, but Ron wanted to see it in action. Harry pulled out his laptop and fired up the Marauder’s MAC Address program. Hermoine rolled her eyes as Harry and Ron looked at all the people who were on the network and where they were. Ron burst out laughing and said, “why is Goyle using his computer in the bathroom?”

“Oh stop it guys!” said Hermoine. Just then Professor Snape walked into the dining hall, and towards the three of them. “What are you laughing at?” asked Snape. “Nothing” they all said. Snape snarled and walked towards his table to eat.

Harry was laying in bed, browsing on his computer when he got the urge to look at the Marauder’s MAC Address program again. He pulled it up and began scanning the map of people on the program. He saw mostly people plugged into the network from their bedrooms in all of the houses, except there was signal coming from outside of the castle. The signal came from a computer that was labelled Sirius Black.

Harry ran to Ron and woke him up. He told him to wake up Hermoine and run and tell Dumbledore what he had found, and that he didn’t have time to wait and was going to go after Sirius. “Wait” said Ron, but Harry had already ran out the door.

Harry walked outside towards the point that he saw Sirius on the programs map. It was right next to a large willow tree outside. Harry walked up to the tree, and the tree began to move. It’s branches were swinging at Harry as he dodged them quickly. Realizing the willow tree must be a machine, he took out his computer and connected it. The willow tree stopped moving and a small hole in it opened up. Harry walked through the hole and walked down three flights of stairs. He heard voices coming from a door at the end of the hall and flung the door open to see Lupin standing next to Sirius Black.

“What are you doing Lupin?” asked Harry. “How could you?”

“Wait let me explain—” replied Lupin. But before he could continue, Sirius chimed in. “No, let me explain, please. Harry, I know what you have heard about me, but please know that I did not betray your parents.”

“What are you talking about?!” screamed Harry.

Sirius continued, “I was hired by _v0ld3m0rt to create an application for him. It was supposed to be a regular game, but in reality, he used it to create a backup of himself. It was called Marvel Gaunt’s Ring. I made the game for him, and when he was Beta-testing it on my computer, he planted evidence on my computer to frame me. I never had any information about your parent’s servers on my computer, _v0ld3m0rt already had it and put it on mine to frame me.”

“And why should I believe you?” asked Harry.

Harry saw that Sirius had a mobile computer in his hand and grabbed it from him. He was ready to duplicate the DDOS attack he learned from Hermoine so that it was notify the De-coders and alert the school and ministry to where Sirius Black was.

“Wait Harry” said Lupin and Sirius in unison. “I know you don’t believe him” said Lupin, “I didn’t know for sure myself when he first emailed me, but give him a chance to prove it to you before you do anything drastic.”

Harry replied “Fine, you have one minute.”

Sirius began speaking again “to prove to you my innocence, I hunted down Marvel Gaunt’s Ring original source code myself. It’s on the mobile computer right in front of you. I wanted to give it to you to delete.”

Harry looked at the mobile computer and back up and Sirius and said: “if this is true show me.”

“You have to give me the phone” replied Sirius.

“No way” replied Harry.

“Then I can’t show you. You could also follow through with your plan of notifying the De-coders which you think would wipe my entire mobile computer and in turn wipe the source code of the game. But it won’t work. Wiping the source code isn’t that easy, I’ve already tried and it needs a special program.”

Sirius took a step toward Harry and then continued “But the ministry would still be notified, and my mobile computer with _v0ld3m0rt’s backup will be in the hands of some random incompetent low pay-grade techy at the ministry.”

Harry thought for a long few seconds, he could just notify the De-coders and he would know for sure if Sirius was telling the truth. He looked at Sirius, and then at Lupin. For some reason, he trusted what Sirius was saying, and he gave Sirius the mobile computer.

Sirius took the computer and pulled up the game. He gave it to Harry and said “See, there it is. I can’t delete it though, I’ve tried every possible way. I know you can though, Lupin told me about what you did in the dungeons at the school with the Computer of Secrets. Run that same Trojan here and you can delete this backup”

Harry pulled up his computer and connected to the mobile computer. He pulled up the LOVE.exe file in his computer, and clicked Run Program

Harry sat in Dumbledore’s office with Sirius and Lupin. “You did a great job” said Dumbledore. “You’ve deleted two backups, Harry. Now, next month is the Trihackers-Cup, and I believe one of the _v0ld3m0rt’s backups will be involved.

Book Four: Harry Potter and the Gigabyte of Files (Upvote)

“Welcome to the selection of the Trihackers-Tournament Champions!” Dumbledore shouted. Harry, Ron, Hermoine and all of the students stood watching Dumbledore and the headmasters from the two other Hackers Schools standing next to a computer. “This” continued Dumbledore as he pointed at a folder on the computer, “Is the Gigabyte of Files. Every eligible student’s name and best line of code is in this Gigabyte of Files folder. The program will choose three of you, one person to represent their school in the Trihacker’s Tournament.”

Harry turned to Ron and Hermoine and asked “What makes a student eligible?”

Hermoine replied “A student must be at least a third year, and have created at least three bug-free computer programs.”

Dumbledore pushed a button on the computer, and the screen lit up bright white. Black letters slowly appeared on the screen that read VIKTOR KRUM. A student in red with short hair stepped out as his school cheered. His name began to fade and a new name appeared. FLEUR DELACOUR. A blonde haired student in light blue stepped out as her school roared behind her. Her name faded as the third and final name appeared, CEDRIC DIGGORY. Harry, Ron, Hermoine and the rest of their school roared in approval.

Hermoine turned to Harry and Ron and said “Cedric wrote one of the best anti-virus softwares to ever come from a student. They were able to clean out all malware on the school’s network in eight minutes”

“Wicked” said Ron.

Dumbledore stepped up to speak – but as he did the computer lit up again, and a fourth name appeared, HARRY POTTER.

“How could Harry’s name be chosen?!” headmaster Karkaroff shouted. “Your school champion had already been chosen, and Harry hasn’t even written one program yet!”

The other school’s headmaster, Maxime chimed in “He must have hacked it!”

“Now, now” said Dumbledore. “I don’t know why Harry was chosen, but if he hacked it, it should go without saying that he should be eligible to play in the Tri-Hackers Tournament.”

Harry started to shout “But I didn’t Ha—“ but was cut off by Dumbledore “In any case, every name that is chosen must compete. We will have four hacker champions competing this year.”

The first task of the Trihackers Tournament was to retrieve a golden egg from a program called D.R.A.G.O.N. The program had a hidden “Easter Egg” of code hidden somewhere in the millions of line of code. It was up to each contestant to find the golden egg while warding off the D.R.A.G.O.N’s Firewall. The Champion Hackers had fifteen minutes of prep time before the competition.

Harry met with Hermoine and Ron to go over his strategy. “Truth is I don’t have a strategy” said Harry.

“I figured you wouldn’t” said Hermoine. “I have an idea. Do you still have your F.I.R.E.B.O.L.T. Program that Sirius gave you last week?”

“Yeah I do” replied Harry, “But that’s just a simple retrieval program, there’s no way I could use it to find the egg in time.”

“You’re right” said Hermoine, but I know a ‘cheat code’ that could increase the speed of the program to find the egg in time.”

“You’re okay with cheating?” replied Harry, in a surprised tone.

“Err, not usually” replied Hermoine, “but it’s not really cheating, just a better code.”

Harry plugged his computer into the Dragon program and ran his F.I.R.E.B.O.L.T. Code. It was tough to dodge all of the D.R.A.G.O.N’s firewalls, but with a few seconds to spare he found the hidden Golden Easter Egg and downloaded it. At the end of the task, Harry was tied for first place with Viktor Krum, who used a Spoofing code to essentially blind the D.R.A.G.O.N. software from knowing he was attempting to hack it, making it easy for him to find the egg.

The second task of the Trihackers Tournament: each Champion must retrieve something that was stolen from them. Harry was tasked with retrieving all of his files on his computer, including confidential information that belonged to Ron.

“Harry, please help, don’t let I forgot to backup my computer and those files can’t get lost in the deep sea of the deep web!”

“I don’t know how to navigate the deep web” said Harry. Hermoine, once again chimed in “Honestly Harry, In order to navigate in the deep web, you need to have a browser that will let you stay in there for as long as you can.” “What browser can do that?” asked Harry.

“None” replied Hermoine. Just then, Dobby the house E.L.F arrive. “Mr. Potter, there is one Beta-browser called GILLYWEED that isn’t fully finished but might be good for use.”

Harry downloaded the browser to his computer and began the search for Ron’s files in the deep web. The browser was blue and resembled the bottom of a deep ocean. He swam through countless amounts of random files until he came across Ron’s. They were guarded by a sophisticated Filegaurd called M.E.R.M.A.I.D. Luckily Harry was able to get past them and retrieve Ron’s files. Unfortunately, it took him over the one-hour time limit and put him in second place.

Cedric Diggory was now in first place, with Harry and Viktor tied for second.

The third and final task was a Virtual Reality game that forced the Champions to navigate through a maze to find the Tri-Hacker’s Cup. The first person to find the cup and then gain access to it would be crowned the winner. The maze was rigged in the game, however, and the only way to pass the obstacles would be for Harry to utilize any programs that he uploaded before starting the game. Harry uploaded all of the files from his computer, and was about to put on the Virtual Reality headset when Dumbledore stopped him, put his arm on his shoulder and said “Harry, whatever happens in there, good luck.”

Harry put the VR Headset on.

As Harry walked through the maze, he was met by a De-coder that took the form of a hooded figure. “How could a De-coder be in here?” he thought. Luckily he had a backup of his P.A.T.R.O.N.U.S program ready and ran it. It was enough to make the De-coder disappear and Harry could continue on. As he walked a golden mist seemed to form around Harry, and he couldn’t figure out what it was. Everything was upside down for him, so he ran a decompiler program and it worked.

Finally Harry reached the inside of the maze and saw a computer in the shape of a large cup. “That must be the TriHackers Cup” he said out loud to himself.

“Yes it is” said Cedric Diggory. He has reached the cup on the other side.

They both ran to the cup and put their hands on it. Everything went black. They were on a different level now that resembled a graveyard. A man appeared in front of Harry that resembled Tom Riddle. Cedric walked up to the man and Harry shouted “Get back, it’s _v0ld3m0rt” but it was too late, _v0ld3m0rt had already injected the Avada Kedavra code into Cedric, wiping his entire CPU and booting him from the game.

“What have you done!” cried Harry. “You deleted all of Cedric’s digital files”

“That’s correct” replied _v0ld3m0rt, “all of those amazing anti-virus softwares he wrote now no longer exist, along with his entire presence online and in the cloud.”

Harry ran to the cup and stood by it, staring at _v0ld3m0rt. “How are you here?” asked Harry.

“My cohorts finally put the Hackers Code to good use and brought me back.” replied _v0ld3m0rt. “I’m not fully back” replied _v0ld3m0rt, just in virtual reality, but it’s closer and closer to the real thing.”

Harry pulled up his file LOVE.exe that he had uploaded to the VR game and had it ready to deploy.

“Ah yes” replied Voldemort. “I figured there was a chance you would have brought that with you. I’m willing to risk this backup, however, because I’m about to delete you like I did Cedric.”

_v0ld3m0rt yelled out the Deletion code at the same time Harry deployed his LOVE.exe code. The two codes clashed with each other, causing digital fireworks in between the two. _V0ld3m0rt’s code was beginning to win until Harry looked up and saw pictures of his parents flying out of the fireworks. His parent’s pictures went back into the fireworks and Harry’s code overtook _v0ld3m0rt’s, destroying his third backup.
